The Biggest Week in American Birding

Photographed during last year’s festivities during The Biggest Week in American Birding, this Blue-winged Warbler was one of more than 30 species of warblers present (photo by Paul Konrad).

It’s that time of the year, and from May 5th through 14th birders from across North America and beyond will be meeting in northwest Ohio to experience peak warbler migration and other migration thrills during The Biggest Week In American Birding. The extensive event schedule for this year offers an exciting array of identification, conservation, and birding workshops along with other great programs and featured speakers. Of course, there’s a variety of field trips, a banquet dinner with an evening keynote speaker, the Birder’s Marketplace, and more.

Centered at the Maumee Bay Lodge and Conference Center in the heart of some of the best spring birding locations in America, birders can easily visit area hotspots in northwest Ohio near the south shore of Lake Erie, including Magee Marsh, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, Black Swamp, and other local Wildlife Areas.
