Providing a great tool for birders that offers a bit of fun daily, birders have been quick to appreciate BirdCast’s fall migration radar maps and local bird migration forecasts for your area and across the continental United States. You can view the most up to date local bird migration alerts – daily migration forecasts for the following 3 nights. And by checking out the fall migration maps you can view the action each night live after sunset, or you can review the map the following morning to assess the overnight migration.

Provided by Colorado State University and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, BirdCast will help you when planning birding activities throughout the fall season. It will also provide insights into migration any time you refer to the maps, such as when you notice new migrants in your area (you can type in the date of your choice to review past migration maps). Overall, these helpful webpages on the BirdCast website provide great science to monitor regularly as fall migration proceeds. Share the maps with your family and friends, who will marvel at this high-tech side of birding.
