Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera

The all-in-one Sony Cyber-shot Digital Camera.

An all-in-one camera with a telephoto zoom lens for bird photographs and videos, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX400V Digital Camera features a self-contained zoom lens that offers ease of use akin to a point-and-shot, but with the design and control of a DSLR. It features a 20 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and a BIONZ X Image Processor along with a 50x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T lens. While there are compromises in using a none-DSLR camera with the zoom or telephoto of your choice, this is a viable option for many birders, especially if economy is a dominating factor.

The 35mm equivalent of a 24-to-1200mm zoom lens provides significant wide-angle and telephoto zoom photography. It also features a wide f3 aperture if needed, along with a wide range of f-stop options. Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps reduce the blurring effects of body and camera movement, and Sony’s Intelligent Active Mode image stabilization combines electronic and optical stabilization for less blurring while photographing or taking videos.

You can also take full HD 1080p AVCHD videos at 60p and 24p and use the optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization to compensate for body and camera shake to provide sharper images. That is especially useful in low light and when using the longer focal lengths. The Sony Cyber-shot features 10 frames per second continuous shooting with full 20 meg resolution, which provides sharp, clear photos under a variety of field conditions.

To create an extra-wide area in a single photo, Intelligent Sweep Panorama utilizes motion compensation while taking panoramic photos. To easily upload photos and videos, a built-in Wi-Fi connection allows you to transfer your photos and videos from your camera to share images you have created.
