The Enthusiast Hotel Collection is partnering with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to offer birders the opportunity to become familiar with and seek out the local bird species that live in and around the 6 properties in the group, located in California (Brewery Gulch Inn), the Bahamas (A Stone’s Throw Away), St. Lucia (Cap Cove), North Carolina (Historic Tapoco Lodge), Maine (Hartstone Inn), and Florida (Casa Morada). This unique collaboration will help hotel guests observe many bird species and better connect with the natural world and with other birders during their stay.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Enthusiast Hotel Collection,” said Mary Guthrie, Director of Corporate Partnerships at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. “Whether guests are lifelong birders or just getting started, our resources are designed to inspire and spark a deep connection with nature.”
Enthusiast Hotel Collection Founder Oneil Khosa added, “We’re thrilled to help enhance the enjoyment of birds for guests at all our hotels and give them the tools and resources to build memories that last forever. We are very proud of our partnership with the Cornell Lab.”
To provide a truly unique experience for the millions of birders in the United States, the properties in the Enthusiast Hotel Collection will connect guests who are birding enthusiasts with local experts. By integrating this program into the hotel collection, birders can expect professional guidance and curated tours to search for local birds at all the properties. Guests will be able to study migration patterns, nesting behaviors, and more on educational walks, and learn about each area’s local efforts to protect vulnerable species.
Pre-arrival, visitors to the hotels will be able to take fun and engaging online courses from the Cornell Lab’s Bird Academy to help prepare for their next birding adventure. To help
identify birds at any of the locations by sight and sound you can utilize the Merlin Bird ID app, and when on site you can submit your bird sightings online through the Cornell Lab’s eBird platform to share your observations with fellow birders and biologists who study bird populations.
The Enthusiast Hotel Collection was born out of a vision of experiential hospitality for enthusiastic travelers who are seeking adventures at off the beaten path destinations and prefer to stay at hotels that have a story to tell. They are a kaleidoscope of boutique hotels, inns, and travel getaways carefully selected to delight the senses, expand the imagination, and inspire adventure. All the properties in the Collection are intimate, close to nature, and offer experiences you can’t find anywhere else.
Each property sources everything locally and maintains the pristine standards of their locations. Enthusiast Hotels has also partnered exclusively with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to help conserve the earth’s biological diversity and enable guests to connect with fellow ornithology enthusiasts to explore birds from California to the Bahamas.
