The ABA Rare Bird Alert’s Highlights

Photographs of a Eurasian Sparrowhawk documented only the Second North American Record and Second Alaska State Record on Adak Island in the Aleutians (photo by Marc Kramer).

Birders recently documented 8 First State/Provincial Records, along with a Second North American Record of a Eurasian Sparrowhawk that was photographed on Adak Island in the Aleutians. The Eurasian Sparrowhawk also established a Second Alaska State Record to add to the total of 5 Second and 5 Third State/Provincial Records, plus 5 other new records were established. Among the 8 First Records were a Song Thrush in California, a Eurasian Curlew in Quebec, a Gray Hawk in Wyoming, a Short-tailed Shearwater in Wisconsin and another in Ontario, a King Eider in Oklahoma – and more!
