Until recently, the only way to get good bird photographs was with a traditional camera and a long lens. With advances in digital cameras and adapters, you can now use your spotting scope to produce quality photographs. Digiscoping is an exciting way to enhance your birding adventures.

Digiscoping combines the opportunity to combine your birding observations with bird photography. Numerous adapters allow you to attach digital cameras and even smartphones to spotting scopes to take photos of the birds you see. If you’d like to take photos while birding, but don’t want to carry a camera with a long lens in addition to your binoculars and spotting scope, digiscoping might be just for you.
