New York, USA. Nature Travel Network (NTN) recently launched a new platform for its international travel website at
http://www.naturetravelnetwork.com. Completely re-designed from the ground up, the new website (NTN 2.0) invites visitors to browse through its network of featured destinations in order to dream, plan and explore nature travel opportunities.
NTN features a wide variety of nature travel resources, created to inspire and inform adventurous, nature-loving travelers, especially birdwatchers, and to link them with talented and reliable tour guides and ecolodges around the globe.
"NTN has always offered travel stories, trip reports, photo galleries, and insider information designed to help travelers be more intelligent and daring explorers of far off (and nearby) destinations. But this new design organizes this information in a more compelling way and adds an entirely new layer – a field guide to birding destinations," says Laura Kammermeier, site founder and managing editor.
Each dedicated destination page features biogeographical details for the most popular birding and nature opportunities in that region, as well as easy-to-read maps and stunning photography that highlights the scenery and wildlife of each region. Lists of target birds and mammals help readers know what to expect when they visit. Links to recommended tour operators and ecolodges are also provided.
Considerable attention has been paid to visual design on NTN 2.0 as well as ease of search. Because every article is geo-tagged, a reader can simply go to any destination page, read a general overview, browse a map, and find details and travel specifics. They can also find a listing of every article written about that destination today or in the past.
"This new version of the NTN website gets us closer to being that 'portal to everywhere' that we first envisioned," says Kammermeier. "We intend to work with travelers, travel agents, and tourism office to add more and more data to the system over time."
"We are proud to showcase the work of some of the world's top talent in the nature business," says Kammermeier. While NTN takes submissions from a variety of sources, it features contributions from such global experts as Adam Riley of Rockjumper Worldwide Birding Adventures; Susan Myers of WINGS Birding Tours Worldwide; Keith Barnes of Tropical Birding, Carlos Bethancourt of Panama's Canopy Tower, Jonathan Meyrav of Israel Ornithological Center; Debi Shearwater of Shearwater Journeys, Gerard Gorman of Hungary, and many more. Each expert has provided content relative to destinations they know best through long hours of research and exploration.
Nature Travel Network is more than just a website, it's a community of nature travelers and tour guides that want to experience, and/or deliver, the best nature experiences on the planet. For no cost or commitment, readers can join the Nature Travel Network to receive news, articles, and discounts for future travel opportunities. NTN editors and writers have personally vetted member tour companies and ecolodges to ensure the highest level of service can be experienced by its traveling readers.
NTN is for birders, by birders, and aims to centralize the universe of people dedicated to birding and nature travel.
