Volunteer Opportunities at Manu Biolodge, Peru

Volunteers can search for exciting tropical species like a Hoatzin among the more than 650 bird species that have been recorded at Manu Biolodge in Peru.

There is an exciting opportunity for adventurous birders to study birds in the Peruvian Amazon through the Bird Volunteer Program at Manu Biolodge, a not-for-profit biological station and biolodge in southeast Peru, located where the Amazon meets the Andes. The program is centered around the mission to understand and protect the birds of one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet – more than 650 bird species have been recorded on eBird at Manu Biolodge!

Participants in the Manu Biolodge Bird Volunteer Program will take part in a range of activities related to censusing birds, building a bird haven, bioacoustics, and science communications – all while living at the 7,400 acre conservation area surrounded by pristine tropical rainforest. This is an opportunity for birders who want to get more involved and who are looking for a new adventure, whether you are a budding ornithologist or a passionate birder interested in the chance to contribute to avian biology and conservation.
