Rare bird action has been at something of a lull in numbers, but the birds that are being reported are certainly exciting, including another First State Record for Arkansas, this time a Clark’s Grebe. Michigan birders are appreciating a First State Record Barnacle Goose not far from Lake Michigan, and Michigan birders are also delighting in seeing a male Tufted Duck, a short distance northwest of the Euro goose. Birders in Arizona are continuing to see the Second State Record American Woodcock in the Patagonia area, and a Slaty-backed Gull at the far northeast point of St. Johns, Newfoundland is also exciting.
