The DNR and Michigan Operation Freedom Outdoors will host a morning of birding, in both wetland and forested habitats in Detroit’s Belle Isle Park, on Friday, June 15 from 9 to 11 a.m.

The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies reports it was pleased to see the preliminary report recently released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service indicating 40% percent of the U.S. population ages 16 and older participated in wildlife-related recreation in 2016.

Ten universities across the US are engaging in the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge, an initiative of the Outdoor Foundation in which schools will go head-to-head for the title of National Champion - the most 'outdoorsy' school in America.
